Sami Hill

She grew up playing basketball in Toronto, competing at the club level with the North Toronto Huskies and playing high school basketball at Eastern Commerce. During this time, she also ran track with the University of Toronto Track Club. After high school, she earned a scholarship to Virginia Tech, where she played for four years and was named to the All-Academic ACC Team before graduating in May 2017.Since then, she has enjoyed a successful professional career in Europe, playing eight seasons across Germany (5), France (1), and Spain (2). On the international stage, she first represented Canada with the U19 National Team at the 2012 AmeriCup and 2013 World Cup. From 2014 to 2016, she competed with the development and senior “B” national teams in various exhibition tournaments and at the 2015 FISU Games. Since 2017, she has been a key member of the Senior Women’s National Team, participating in four AmeriCups, one World Cup, and the Tokyo Olympics, and serving as an alternate for both the 2018 World Cup and the 2020 Olympic Games.
