Madison Thurgood
Born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Madison discovered fencing at the age of 11 and quickly became captivated by its unique combination of strategy, discipline, and strong community. Over the years, their dedication to the sport has led to success on both national and international stages, earning a place on the national teams between 2014 and 2023 across various age categories. Their commitment to fencing remains steadfast, driven by a deep passion for the sport, the camaraderie it fosters, and the personal growth it inspires.In addition to athletic pursuits, Madison is currently completing a Master’s in Management at the Smith School of Business, following an undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Alberta, completed in 2021. Coming from a family of professional musicians, Madison also holds a strong appreciation for music and the fine arts, which continue to influence their creative and disciplined approach to both sport and academics.
