Chuck Aoki

Chuck Aoki is a three time Paralympian in the sport of wheelchair rugby and three time Paralympic medalist winning a bronze at the 2012 Paralympic Games in London and silver at the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro and silver at the 2020 Games in Tokyo.Chuck has used a wheelchair for most of his life due to a genetic condition called hereditary sensory and autonomic neuropathies type II, which results in him not having feeling in his body below the knees and elbows. Chuck started out playing wheelchair basketball for 11 years as a kid but was inspired by the 2005 film "Murderball" to try wheelchair basketball. He made the national team in his first season and had his international debut in 2009. Chuck has shared his experiences and travel as a mentor and ambassador for Classroom Champions for 5 years.  At the same time, Chuck continued to study and graduated from Metropolitan State University and University of Minnesota - Twin Cities. He’s now getting his PhD at the University of Denver where he also trains.
